The Simple Past Tense
We use the Simple Past Tense to talk about things that has happened ( in the past ).
‘is’ become ‘was’ in the past tense
‘are’ becomes ‘were’ in the past tense
Example:
i. Yesterday was Sunday.
ii. Linda helped her mother.
iii. She watered the plants.
iv. Her brothers played wither mothers.
v. They were every happy.
We spell words differently in the past tense.
Example
is – was are – were help – helped water – watered play - played
is – was are – were help – helped water – watered play - played
